After a couple of weeks break from ceramics to enjoy some travelling around the South Island of New Zealand, which was sweet as! I finally got to see the results of my hard work last term. Hard work, yes, but completely fun and addictive..
I picked up my last pieces of glazed and fired work from the SA TAFE School of the Arts last night, want to see them?
After experimenting with plates and mugs in the first half of the term I decided to go back to basics and work on my forms and height by throwing some vases.
There was a combination of underglaze slips and glaze applied to these pieces. They all look so completely different after being fired to 1300+ but I have learnt a lot about clay shrinkage and glaze application.
I finally spent some time cleaning up my new, old wheel who I have named Cinnamon Sally due to her epic amounts of rust so I'm looking forward to getting my hands muddy again tonight!
