Yesterday I went to visit the community centre in the sunny little town of Aldinga to check out their pottery studio. Their website advertises pottery classes, carpentry, wood carving, sewing and community gardening. All community driven classes, all costing $7 or less per session! What a gem of a place it is too!
I spent an hour chatting with the people there making pots and they have kindly offered to let me hire their kiln for stoneware firings whenever I need. I'll just need to get busy so I can fill a kiln load up with only my pieces and the teacher will show me how to load and operate it too!!
They have a range of underglazes, brush on glazes and transfers and textures. It was a great studio and I can't wait to go down there and make something beautiful!
They also teach glass works! Look at this amazing glass dish created by someone at the A CC.
